In Florida the Hurricane season runs from June 1st to December 1st.
During this period, it is advisable to store drinking water, canned food, batteries, medical supplies and even extra doses of prescriptions. The idea is to have enough supplies to cope 5 days without power.
Overlooked are lawn chairs, chair cushions, sunshades, flags and umbrellas; all of which can become airborne with hurricane wind speeds.
If you plan on having or using a temporary structure at anytime during the year, but especially during hurricane season, please contact Kathie Selover at 451-9120 or Walt Pietrak 441-0382. Kathie and Walt are the Co-Chairs of the Architectural Committee and will discuss the project; size, location, anchoring, and so on with you to insure your safety as well as all other residents.
Let’s hope that we have a mild hurricane season, but let’s be prepared if it is not.
Thank you,
Mike Roberts
